I began my photography business in December 2004, but I always had some interest in the industry, just not a serious one, and I even remember that at one point, as a child, I owned a Brownie camera!. And a couple of Polaroids! Initially, I started out as a stock and fine arts photographer and, through no fault of my own (!), became a portrait photographer. The journey that began nearly 18 years ago now has me journeying back into fine art and sharing my images with you.
During these almost 18 years I became a member of Professional Photographers of America, Texas Professional Photographers Association and the Professional Photographers Guild of Houston. I have attended several courses at Texas School of Professional Photography, a week-long intensive training school held once a year, and have taken numerous online and in-person courses to continuously improve my craft.
Early in my career, I won several awards including Best Landscape in a juried exhibit at The Arts Alliance at Clear Lake, and awards at other venues and photography clubs. In 2022, I have received ribbons for the following works: Honorable Mention for "The Swing" in the Galveston Art League Spring Juried Show; 1st Place for "Trees on a Foggy Morning" in The Woodlands Art League Juried Photography Show and Third Place for "Southern Magnolia" in that same show. In the Woodland Art League's Fall Juried Show and LSAG Qualifier I won First Place for "Sunflowers and Pump Jack"; 3rd Place for "Eye of the Horse" and First Honorable Mention for "Family and Friend". This makes 6 Ribbons that I have been awarded this year!! How exciting!! I have also been published in Aquarium Fish Magazine and have photographed several venues and persons for local publications.
My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.
I look forward to meeting you as I continue my artistic journey. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.
